Texas Safari

Posted by Texasholly |

It was just down the road,

but felt far away.

Upon closer inspection,

this land's inhabitants

appeared both strange and wonderful.

Monkey business was common

to both citizen and visitor.

Eyes were open

to rodents large

and horses small.

The adventure was great.

Too great for just one day.

More adventures can be found over at Sarcastic Mom.

WHERE is this one? It looks really cool!

We have taken Abbie to the one in San Antonio, but it does not seem to compare to the one you have close by....

LOVE it!

I have never seen a baby kangaroo before. That is somewhat unsettling...it looked kind of inside-out. But, the small horse and the kiddo's are very cute. Just remember that one day just one of those boys of yours will eat as much as that small horse does.

We have never been to a safari type place, but I can't wait to go to one.

Great photos, Holly!

Presh! You really are a good mommy. (Hey, did ya wish for the Little Chicken to be in costume while communing with the other critters?) :)

The kids are cute but I will have to say that baby kangaroo is the cutest thing ever. Awww =)

Is this the one north or south of the city?

Looks like so much fun!

I once paid extra to see a cabybara at a county fair. It was billed as "the world's largest rat"! Ick!

Safari's should be musts for all schools. Get the kids excited about the animals. Then show them all the wonderful pets that need homes.

Even though my dog totally just vomited 3 times on the floor!

Ah, but that's what makes it fun.

Pics are great!

That looks like so much fun and so interesting. Where were you? Great shots.

How cool is that! We don't have anything like this near us, besides a zoo,but you don't get the up close experience.

My kids say AWWWWWW...
Too cute!
Now you have to do a "Holly's Animated" version of these animals...that would be fun!

Great shots! That first one would make a wonderful painting!

The detail in these photos is awesome. From the hair on the um, furry thing to the snout on the other furry thing to the watchful, pondering gaze on the not-so-furry thing (but oh-so-cute "thing").

Wonderful. We have a safari here in Ohio. Kinda freaks me out when we drive by it . . . I'm always waiting for a rhino to jump out at me. But then again, they wouldn't really "jump"--would they?

Awesome pics! It looks like a cool place.

It's like a picture book - without the book. I've heard that Texas is huge, but I had no idea it included Australia. I have so got to update my sense of geography.

The shots are awesome! Which park is this? I went to one years back as a child that was near Clifton, I do believe. How fun!
