Apples?

Posted by Texasholly |

We went to the apple orchard this week.

We saw a lake inhabited by beavers.

We saw baby chicks.

We saw colorful flowers.

We saw hay bales.

And then we saw our cousin.

And then we got silly.

Apples? I don't recall if we saw any.

Go have more fun hosted by Lotus.

How 'bout them apples?

The place looks beautiful...I don't suppose you were wearing your beaver-trapping boots?

What great pictures! I love apple picking...but I am allergic to apples so it doesn't matter to me if we actually see any. Yes, a teacher...allergic to apples. Irony?

Those pictures are just precious. Love the faces and the cousin, adorable :-)

I wish we had an orchard nearby, apples or not.

My favorite are the last 3:) Especially that tricky face expression of the youngest:)

That photo series would make nifty little gifts for the kids with a personalized cover for each. Maybe a diecut hard cover with their smiling faces peeking through? Cute!

We went once to a pick your own apple orchard with a pre school. They charged about the same price per pound for already picked as the grocery store does. I'll go to the orchard near my house, where apples are $12 a bushel (40 pounds), rather than $40 a bushel to get them at the first orchard.

Love your captions. No apples, huh? Cute.

And the cousin is ADORABLE! And it looks like she fits right in with the boys. Gotta love girls like that!

Apple orchard? Really? Where?

That last pic is totally classic. I suggest it be displayed at all of their weddings...

This is my favorite feature every week. I'm hoping to take my girls apple picking this week sometime. I love Fall. Sigh.

Holly, you mind reader! Here it is close to 11 PM. I'm thinking that it is a real shame that Holly doesn't host her potlucks until Monday because I could use a late night snack right now. And then I wonder if you might have Sunday night snacks to go along with your Monday potlucks, and here you are offering apples. You might just be the best host in the blogosphere. Thank you.
And did you know that apples are genetically complex, like children? If you plant a seed, you might get a decorative apple, an edible apple, a green apple, etc. It wasn't until the Chinese figured out grafting that they could predict what apples they would get. So, how fitting that you picture children under the heading of apple. (And no, I'm not really proud of the fact that I know that. I do not know why so many inane facts stick up there.)

Wonders if your Chicken Little Rhett felt like he was at home near the chicks?

So did you find your former "pet" beavers out there?
