It rained
inspiring green.
It rained
melting leaves.
It rained
liquefying sidewalks.
It rained
encouraging budding depression.
It rained
magnifying yellow.
It rained
celebrating ferness.
It rained
cheering growth.
It rained
crushing exuberance.
It rained
animating puddles.

these are wonderful! i love your themed photo essays like this.
Awesome photos! My favorite is the melting leaves.
This looks like just the right amount of rain! I here it rained a bit too much in Florida this week.
Gorgeous! I was out taking rainy photos too! Loved it, well except for the power outages and 2 hours of Thunder ;-)
I love that you called Lotus the water whisperer, I may steal that ;-)
Great Weekly Winners Holly! LOVE THEM!!
You tell a photo story like no other. I love them and look forward to them each weekend!
Have a wonderful Saturday!
Instead of a teddy, we have a blankie. THe blankie is also a one-of-a-kind, woven BY HAND for the impending arrival by Aunt Martha. When the blankie arrived, it came with a note tucked inside the box: "This was the hardest thing I've ever made."
Translation: Don't lose this or let it get fucked up because I WILL NEVER REPLACE IT.
But the blankie is still an indispensible part of our daily lives - especially when bedtime rolls around.
The blankie is now torn, and worn. I've tried to fix it but my sewing skills are at about the same level as my cooking skills. Which means I don't actually have any.
So what I'm saying, in a very roundabout and MEMEME kind of way, is... I feel your pain.
P.S. Why do I ALWAYS leave the comments on the wrong posts? What is WRONG with me? Obviously that last comment was meant for the previous post about the teddy bear. I have no idea how I keep screwing this up.
I give up now.
(Great photos, by the way.)

Brilliant! The last picture is the perfect.
Just a note.
I edited my own HTML code to get this cute little box on my site. And, well...er...ahem...there should be a law against my doing that because there have been a few "issues" as in 1/3rd of the time the comment ends up on a post from 7 days ago, or it won't take your ID or...or...or...
I am working on fixing it, and appreciate your comments SO MUCH (even if they end up on a post from 7 days ago...I know what you meant!)
Beautifully done... I like this post, especially since it cooled me down here in Austin, just thinking about rain!
Those are gorgeous!
Amazingly, we could use a little rain here in Seattle!
I absolutely loved this. Thank you for making me smile today on this dreary rainy day.
Connie
"Animating puddles" is my favorite. Very nice!
I love these types of posts you do. The photos are always spectacular (you are a terrific photographer), but your words are perfect... and poetic.
Gorgeous photo-journalism as always! It makes me look at rain in a whole new way.
I love this series. Gorgeous photos, and I love the whimsy of the reflection in the last one!
Beautiful.
Is ferness a word?
Great theme this week! Love the pictures you took to exemplify it!! Hooray for puddles!
This has to be one of my favorite posts ever. When I got to "sometimes a picture is not worth 1,000 words..." I started laughing loudly. And then reading that bit over & over & laughing more. And my husband said, "What? What? What?" so I made him read your post. And he laughed, too (very unusual that we both enjoy the same humor). Just delightful.
I love the rain theme. Wonderful photos!
These are so pretty. We have had an over abundance of rain here in New England. In fact July was almost the wettest on record. I love summer rain.
what a nature walk this morning :) nice shots, i like your silly shadow shot the best :)
Oohh!! These are great shots! I love "melting leaves"!
Holly, I just love your clever style! You rock WW!!
I totally love rain. :)
Love your pics. The sidewalk and puddle shot are my favorites.
The rain was great wasn't it :)
Today was my first WW post, so I'm checking everyone out... I'm seeing some GREAT pictures! Love the last one especially!
I love this whole collection! My favorite one is the 2nd - I love how the water drops off the leaf. Very cool!
He is beautiful.
what the heck? I said, "he is beautiful" on your rain post. I meant to say it on your Teddy bear post.
duh.
These are all really cool, I love the ones of the raindrops on the flowers and plants. :)
I love all the raindrops on flowers, and the last one is awesome. The captions add much, too. Loved these!
Lovely as always, m'dear.
well put ... and great photos, too.
My favorite is the second one...
And THANK GOD for the rain!
I absolutely love these. I wish it were raining in my neck of the woods...
Beautiful Pictures. You have quite an eye for photography.
Hmm, my comment may have posted in the wrong place. Weird things are happening!
Anyway, trying to post for Weekly Winners -- great photos, especially loving the last shot!
WOW! That's gorgeous - absolutely gorgeous. Amazing shots!
Some love is absolutely forever. I still have my original Teddy - it's one of the only things I took, and have kept all these years.
So the oddity is that he's 2 here and 3 in the post above. Did someone have a birthday? ;)
You in the puddle is a fun one.
That sure is a lot of rain!
Aren't drops fun and challenging to shoot?
Very cool - love this week's theme!
Love it! Love your way of capturing them all poetically :) The last shot is so clever.
The water whisperer... I loved that! Looks like it was the water whisperer who took us on that fascinating tour of rain.
Great WW Holly!
Great water shots.
These are wonderful pics! I look so forward to your ww's every week~you tell a story w/your pics & your captions are the BEST :) I ♥ all the rain on the flower ones but my fave is the animated puddle :)
It rained?
You don't happen to live in Belgium by any chance?
