Gorgeous! I was out taking rainy photos too! Loved it, well except for the power outages and 2 hours of Thunder ;-)

Instead of a teddy, we have a blankie. THe blankie is also a one-of-a-kind, woven BY HAND for the impending arrival by Aunt Martha. When the blankie arrived, it came with a note tucked inside the box: "This was the hardest thing I've ever made."

Translation: Don't lose this or let it get fucked up because I WILL NEVER REPLACE IT.

But the blankie is still an indispensible part of our daily lives - especially when bedtime rolls around.

The blankie is now torn, and worn. I've tried to fix it but my sewing skills are at about the same level as my cooking skills. Which means I don't actually have any.

So what I'm saying, in a very roundabout and MEMEME kind of way, is... I feel your pain.

P.S. Why do I ALWAYS leave the comments on the wrong posts? What is WRONG with me? Obviously that last comment was meant for the previous post about the teddy bear. I have no idea how I keep screwing this up.

I give up now.

(Great photos, by the way.)

Brilliant! The last picture is the perfect.

Just a note.

I edited my own HTML code to get this cute little box on my site. And, well...er...ahem...there should be a law against my doing that because there have been a few "issues" as in 1/3rd of the time the comment ends up on a post from 7 days ago, or it won't take your ID or...or...or...

I am working on fixing it, and appreciate your comments SO MUCH (even if they end up on a post from 7 days ago...I know what you meant!)

Beautifully done... I like this post, especially since it cooled me down here in Austin, just thinking about rain!

I love these types of posts you do. The photos are always spectacular (you are a terrific photographer), but your words are perfect... and poetic.

This has to be one of my favorite posts ever. When I got to "sometimes a picture is not worth 1,000 words..." I started laughing loudly. And then reading that bit over & over & laughing more. And my husband said, "What? What? What?" so I made him read your post. And he laughed, too (very unusual that we both enjoy the same humor). Just delightful.

These are so pretty. We have had an over abundance of rain here in New England. In fact July was almost the wettest on record. I love summer rain.

Some love is absolutely forever. I still have my original Teddy - it's one of the only things I took, and have kept all these years.

So the oddity is that he's 2 here and 3 in the post above. Did someone have a birthday? ;)
