Holly and the Aquaskipper...

Posted by Texasholly |

Welcome to The Nirvana's first movie presentation.

Please take a seat.

Have a big bucket of popcorn,

some peanut M&Ms,

and an extra-large Dr. Pepper.

Please silence all cell phones and pagers.

The previews are over.

Our featured presentation* is about to begin...
*the sound may not be THX, but is important to the film's plot** development.
**plot may be a slight*** exaggeration.
***the word "slight" may be understating it.****
****oh, stop already! The film is only 1 minute and 19 seconds long for goodness sake.

Either your dad is the most coordinated person I've ever seen, or those Aqua-thingamabobs are not really meant for people who REALLY know how to enjoy the water....

on a boat, beer in hand, spf applied, ray-bans in place.

That contraption looks like way too much exercise to get any real enjoyment out of it.

EXERCISE + VACATION = NO FUN

Misty said...

I am not at all coordinated, but that's the sort of thing I look at and say "I could totally do that!" but we all know I couldn't.

It looks awesome though... In an odd, "how the heck do you store this thing?" sort of way...

I love how you had a life jacket for ankle deep water!

Beth Cotell said...

Thanks for the giant laugh first thing in the morning!

Your dad made it look so easy. I love how you just sunk right to the bottom.

Still wiping the tears off my cheeks!

Threeundertwo said...

I think I just woke up the rest of the house when I burst out laughing. Hilarious.

I bet my son would absolutely love that!

Brittany said...

OMG that is hilarious! I was expecting you to fly off of it or something, so when it sank, juice flew out of my nose. Orange juice. So, it totally burns.

Beck said...

HAHAHAHAA.
Awesome.

Louise said...

I LOVE the film. And you sold me on the Aqua Skipper, if I just had some water to put it in.

Did you have better luck later?

Roger Miller said...

At least you had safety on your mind!

Your Dad rocked on that thing and I am sure you have increased their sales with this pitch.

No doubt about it.

Courtney said...

Okay seriously? That is hilarious. He made it look so easy! And then you sank. I can't stop laughing at you...sorry!

Happy Campers said...

OK, I don't know what's funnier.

The fact that it's only 2 feet of water & you're wearing a life jacket, or the fact that you had a seizure when you stepped onto the Aquaskipper.

That's is HILLARIOUS....te he he heheheheheheh

That. Was. Fantastic. Nicely done.

First of all Ihad no idea you were so CUTE! Adorable!

And I saw this grasshopper thing on a TV show of new inventions a yera or so ago and even the guy who invented it FELL OFF. So don't feel bad....

Favorite line?
"Its all about the comedy"

Why yes it is- Mr. Smug on the shore not being the one to try to walk on water. Yes it is.

Is this available on blue-ray?
(I don't actually know what blue-ray is.)

Oh that is the best!!! Yep that made my day right there. Did you ever get it to work??

Unknown said...

Off to go get my snacks now so I can settle in and watch that about 18 more times (i know, I have no life).

Was Dad drunk one night watching informercials? I mean really... who buys something like that? I mean that in the nicest way.

EatPlayLove said...

LOL! Too funny Holly. BTW...your dad rocks, but I am sure you already know that.

Madge said...

OK. Seeing and hearing you made me miss you terribly. so there. I've not even laughing at your video.

I'm laughing a little.

But missing you more.

Don Mills Diva said...

That is awesome!

Now I can't wait to hear that laugh in person in a few days!

Anglophile Football Fanatic said...

Holy moly, Holly. And, sadly, all I can think is Dora: salvavidas so we can be safe. Your skills on all things internet are getting to be dang good. I can't even do a video.

OHmommy said...

Okay.

THAT is seriously the best thing ever. I am laughing out loud. At your dad, at silly you, and at the flipping aqua skipper.

Thanks Holly. ;)

Janet said...

That was so.frickin'.funny!!! Thank you for sharing, I love laughing really loudly at work ;-)

carmen said...

OK, that was funny! The girls heard me laughing so we watched it again.

And I loved seeing you in 'real life' again after just still photos for 10 years. Way too long! About that trip....

Miss Holly! You are a star! Love the life jacket. Me thinks it's the male humping motion that makes the thing work. I'd say more... but it's your dad and you'd probably barf.

YOU RULE!

Is that Stedman's voice? We all want to see his hum... never mind.

Karen MEG said...

Wow on your Dad; what a contraption that is, and it looks like quite a workout!

And wow on you; for posting this ... so hilarious!!!!

I bet that'd be worth $10K on AFV LOL!

BusyDad said...

popcorn bits and dr. pepper up the nasal passages = not fun.

The video = fun

(which made the upnose part worth it).

Cookin' Mama said...

I did not read the other comments, so I have no idea if I am repeating...mainly because I'm too busy giggling.

Mad props for sharing that with us!

tarable said...

My husband wants to know what's so funny over here at the computer. I had a feeling that might happen - looks pretty complicated! Could happen to any normal person.

Kristen said...

Wow-you are SO awesome at that!
Teach me, please?

Loved it!

the mama bird diaries said...

That was hilarious.

Your dad rocked it!

Lizz @ Yes, and So is My Heart said...

That was great. I totally laughed. How did your dad make it look so easy? Did you figure it out?

jubilee said...

I'd rather work out my calves by going back to the fridge for more Chubby Hubby. But it is obviously working for your dad - great legs!

Momisodes said...

ROFL!!!! Oh man, that was priceless :) You and your dad looked fabulous though!

Candi said...

O.M.G.!! That was super sweet!

Joeprah said...

LMFAO!! You know, that water may seem intimidating to you, but to normal folk we call that "knee high." Seriously though, WTFudge did I just watch??? That was awesome on so many levels. If you master that skipper I would like to see it A) because it is silly, B) because it is silly. That ruled. Oh, I would also like to see some more wipeouts--that one sucked as wipeouts go. I mean, give the camera something to love. Go over the handle bars (if that's what they are), or just go, "Whoa!!!" and go all off balance like into the water. LOL! ~ Joe

A Mom Two Boys said...

I'm with Joeprah...I had my fingers crossed for a funny water-filled wipeout. Perhaps next time?

And WHERE did Dad find that thing? And YAY for Dad for being so good at it!

Did Blog Stedman try it?

Ok, Where Was I? said...

At least you knew what was most important: to take off the life jacket right away.

Who came up with that? Who sat around looking at the water and said, "I want to get over there, but I don't want to swim or use a boat. I want to hump."

Suzie said...

You Are too thin!!!!!!! Eat some chips your making the rest of us look bad!

Jennifer S said...

That was hilarious! I love the sound effects and captions.

Where's the video of your 2nd try??

Flea said...

I've seen ads for those, thought they looked easy. You made it look good, if that's any comfort.

Anonymous said...

Holly - I love you. And I love your shameless self-deprecating humor.

You are an inspiration. And I mean that in utmost most sincerety.

Aqua-skipper.

Rachael said...

Hilarious. If I weren't so darn tired from being on vacation with 4 kids and no husband to punt to, I'd give it a ROTFL. It did merit a LOL though and an exit from bloglines to leave a comment (when I was going to just sneak by and peak so I didn't get too behind while on vacation!)

Life in the Crazy Lane said...

That is SO funny! Where do you even get one of those? And why would you want one when a boat takes so much less effort? You got farther on it than I probably would have, by the way.

Cynthia said...

OK, that was hilarious! Why/how does that thing work? Dad totally rocked it! You on the other hand...

Ron Davison said...

Your dad is too cool. And you are too funny. You know, I think that you should make an arragement with the folks at Turner, or whoever it is that owns the old silent movies - and offer crayola enhancements. I see fame and fortune in your future.
And I want a hydro-whatchamacallit.

Jenny Gardiner said...

Oh, my god. thank you for that fabulous laugh. I needed that.
where can I get one of those--it looks like a great workout (if you can ever actually get it to work!)

Burgh Baby said...

You.are.hysterical. That is all.

Momo Fali said...

What in tarnation is that thing?! Looks fun...but WEIRD!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA Excellent.. Thanks Holly xxx

Danielle said...

That was excellent!!! It should be a sport in the Olympics!

Angie's Spot said...

OMG, I have huge tears of laughter rolling down my face. Hubby was amused too. Thanks for sharing!

Manager Mom said...

OK... is it totally wrong that after watching that video, knowing that if I could get the thing to move at all I'd look like a deranged bunny, but I STILL want one of those REALLY badly?

Manic Mommy said...

OMG I am laughing so hard. Your dad is like, super-coordinated.

Can't wait for the sequel.

Anonymous said...

That was brilliant!

But I must agree with a couple of previous commenters - looks like it would take way too much coordination for this here person to master. Give me a sail boat, a good book, a hat, some sunblock and I'm all set!

Found you through...oh crud, I can't remember how I got here. But I am. And I plan on coming back!
