Bonus! Holly's blog teaches patience...

Posted by Texasholly |

I am sure it hasn't bothered you at all that my blog is loading extremely slow because ANY amount of waiting is worth the quality crap that I write. *ahem*

*cough*
*cough*

OK! I am soooo sorry. With help from brilliant outside sources I have narrowed it down to this:

There is no need to display pictures of tissue boxes in high definition.

Yes, I have been downloading my camera pictures directly to the blog without decreasing their size. Which means that I really need to go back and replace all my posted pictures with smaller renditions of themselves.

Whoo, hooo! That sounds like a good time.

So, I will work on that.

slowly.

Things will get better.

Slowly.

I am working on it.

Slowly...

But

not

today!

Today I am going to a poker tournament to try out a new strategy.

A strategy that requires math being computed in my head*.

*bringing a calculator with me to the poker table kinda degrades the whole "Holly is a fierce poker player" thing I am promoting...

So, it might be a short day.

A very short day.

A very, very short day.

Which means I will be back here resizing photos...

And now I unveil my first ever, properly-sized-photo-for-downloading-to-blog:

*drum roll*

Wish me luck!

*lol* To be honest it wasn't loading slow for me...but I appreciate your efforts for others!!

For some reason the picture of bagels made me giggle...it was totally random :D

(P.S. No WAY...am I FIRST?)

Wow! I'm #2 to comment. Making progress (considering I was #54 to comment on yesterday's post).
What's with the square bagels, dude?
I'm impressed--daytime poker for the gals? is there alcohol involved? I could never do poker if math came into play, because I got left in the dust in 4th grade in math and never recovered.
I just tend to round up and hope for the best ;-)

It wasn't slow for me. But of course it would be worth it anyway.

Why does one need square bagels? Square cream cheese?

I'm not a poker player, but I think trying to do statistics (or whatever) in my head would totally blow the poker face.

See, I knew you were the right choice for my "modern" blog-thingy award. Another photo to download for ya!

Try this blog instead of my picture one. I forget that my picture blog is connected to that blogger account! Sorry!

I have not had it load very slow, and if it did I probably just thought it was my computer. Good luck with the poker thing. :)

I had no problem with it loading slowly!
Have fun at your Poker Tourney. I'll think about you next week in VEGAS :-) Thanks for blogsitting for me.
XOXO

You write the highest quality crap out there and you know it.

Good luck with the math and poker and all that.

Those square bagels look awfully... circular to me. BTW your site has been loading just fine for me, and my internet service is terrible.

Go, girl! Can't wait to hear about the tournament. I'm sending all sorts of good poker vibes. Make Daniel proud!*

*That's Daniel Negreanu, poker pro, in case any one hasn't heard the name.

Love the bagel shot! I probably need to follow suit on the shrinking of pics before posting. Too many things to think about, but I'll do anything for my reader. :-)

heck, who doesn't love square bagels which are actually round??? Count me in. I mean it's not everyday that one can have a square bagel which looks round. Awesome.

But I bet if it had downloaded in high def, they'd be square. (something to think about...) :)

I never had any load problems, but computer guru Hubby has everything here running at the speed of light so maybe that's why.

Loved your random pic of the squagels. They make AWESOME sandwiches!

I learn so much from you!!

Like, those 'Square Bagels' look awfully circular to me.

Go all-in with a pair of dueces... it works all the time! :)

Oh lordie. I know I am a culprit of this too. Never even tho't it being an issue. In add'n to the fact that recently I changed the quality to "fine" instead of "normal" so now I'll bet I'm gonna have a real problem! Oh well. Good times is right. Nice to see you again funny girl.

I had no problem before, but I'm glad you've furthered your bloggy knowledge. And, ummm, that bagel does not look square to me.

You know, the whole reason I'm not going to BlogHer is because I'm heading up a charity poker tournament. I don't see any reason why you can't share some inside tips with me though...I mean, some of the money is going to charity and all.

So, square bagels? Are they bagels with four equal sides and angles? Or really nerdy bagels who wear pocket protectors and play D&D all weekend?

hmmm. your site hasn't loaded slowly. although I'M a little slow. but i think it's because i'm a little too high-definition for my own good.

tommie said...

never loaded slow for me, but I am coming back on a daily basis now...Is Market Pantry from Target? I am totally going to have to keep a better eye on my bagels.

Brittany said...

Oh yum, I am kinda a stickler about my square bagels being round like a full moon, and those just fit the bill!

Lizz @ Yes, and So is My Heart said...

Well, changing the size of those pictures sounds like oh so much no fun. Lucky you.

And good luck to you. Or, rather I hope you had good luck.

Geez, couldn't you have at least made the photo of like cinnamon raisin bagels or something other than "plain?"

Um...is it just me or do those bagels still totally look round?

I love the bagel photo. It looks just right. Sure wish that I had one now. The page loaded fast, but after having dial up for so long, everything is moving at an alarming head spinning speed with my fancy new connection. Love your blog name, by the way.

So happy to be part of outside sources! Good luck with poker:)

I'm bad about the big pics too. I need to figure out how to decrease the size.

I lost track somewhere around the point where you said you'd be using square bagels as poker chips. What kind of tournament is this? What did I miss? And how is a person supposed to make sense of postings that take longer to load than one's attention span?

Anonymous said...

They still look round to me too... Sqaure bagels - why?

Scary Mommy said...

By far the best close up of a Target brand bagel I've ever seen. Bravo!

OHmommy said...

Never had a problem with your site. It has always been super fast for me. Perhaps your blog likes me? ;)

Square bagels? Hm. I think someone could be sued for false advertising.

Great blog.

guilty as charged, ma'am. i *did* just learn tho that if i just "save as" "for web" in p-shop elements, it is the perfect size. but dayum, picasa is easier and direct upload to blogger/albums. sigh.

if you use picasa, upload to a web album, then go to the web album and grab the html code for whatev size ya like!
