How does my butt look now?

Posted by Texasholly |

Oh how the stars have aligned today perfectly for me to have anything something cohesive to blog. January 1, 2008: I write new year's resolutions to increase sightings of Snazzy Holly. 1 week ago: I arranged for a pick up of my crap used items by the Salvation Army. Yesterday: I watched Oprah. Today: the pick up is happening. Today: is the inaugural Fight the Frump with Fussy. See how the plan has come together?

Surely you didn't miss Oprah yesterday with Peter Walsh, but if you are not squarely in her ideal demographic like I am here is the bottom line: The same things that make your house fat and messy make you fat and messy.
So, this morning instead of feeding my children I rushed through my closet for 10 minutes grabbing out the fat to add to my Salvation Army pick up pile.
This was just a spur of the moment sort. I only grabbed things that I hadn't worn in over a year or disliked. I just grabbed and stuffed into bags. No deep decisions, no mulling over each item, no givers remorse. I just grabbed and stuffed.
So, two large garbage bags later my closet is at least 20 pounds lighter. Not bad for a 10 minute diet.

I watched the show too! I wanted to throw out my junk, but I'm too busy blogging.

Uh, is that an excuse? LOL!

I think your butt looks great.

I haven't watched the show yet, but it's waiting on my DRV. But you have inspired me, Holly! My closet's getting decluttered tomorrow! (No, that's not an excuse--I'm at work!)

If only all diets worked that quickly...

I've got some purging to do. Not the food kind either.

Blessings,

As I posted, I did a major declutter a few weeks ago, but as I was in the process of moving a BUNCH of stuff to storage, a lot of things when in boxes that probably shouldn't have - I'll be doing this again. It was SUCH a liberating feeling!

Great post.

If trashing my clothes would help me lose these last 15 pounds of 'baby fat', I'd empty my closet and go naked ;)
Wish I'd seen the show!

Good for you! I've had my closet cleaned out for a while - I'm working on finding a place to donate - still waiting to hear back.

I don't keep fat or skinny clothes, but I need to work on weeding out the threadbare-but-hey-they-fit items. In the market for attractive around the house clothes.

I got sucked into watching that last night at midnight. Couldn't stop. I have similar plans for my own closet. Hell, for my whole house. I'm buying the book, and I hardly ever buy anything Ms. O suggests.

Also, I could not believe what those kids accomplished in 30 minutes. I'm not sure I believe it. Faithless me.

I did this not long ago! Man, I wish someone would tell me when stuff like this is on. I never watch daytime TV. Ever.

I'm a professional. Nothing can stay. Put that piece of paper down for more than a minute and it's history. Let a shirt go wanting for over four months, it's goodbye. Problem is, when I need things, I've over-efficiently gotten rid of them. It's a slippery slope people. Beware.

Yes, but did you check the pockets for any spare change?

Good for you! I purged toys and my girls' clothes over Christmas. It was amazing. I did not, however, decrease the size of my butt. I guess I'm going to have to go through my closet next!

Seriously, clutter makes me crazy and as I type that I am surrounded by tons of crap here on my breakfast bar! (The main clutter hot spot in our house which is, ironically, close to where we stash the hard liquor.)

I'm SO doing this to my closet tonight. It definitely need to drop a few pounds. There's things in there since I was a freshman in college!

What a great idea to donate them :)

Doesn't it feel good to get rid of stuff that is doing nothing but take up your energy?

We sent off a few boxes at the end of January, and its a huge relief.
