This week we went to the Dallas Arboretum. It was my first visit. I was a little skeptical about the kid friendliness of what I assumed were formal gardens and some trees.
I was wrong.
It was a great day. It is our new favorite place to play. I took close to 400 pictures and had difficulty narrowing it down because the place is beautiful in every direction.
P.S. Tree climbing is not allowed which we found out after the picture above was taken. The Nirvana does not endorse taking pictures of illegal activities...unless they are super cute.
Now go visit Lotus for more Weekly Winners...just please stay out of trouble.

I am going!!! Way to go and kill a tree, Rebel!
I love these! Beautiful photos...and I'm even more convinced that my camera and I don't get along. Either something is wonky with it or I have a perma-tremor and can't get a clear shot. :(
What a gorgeous place!
Even if it is a hotbed of illegal activity.
What a lovely place and 400 pictures, I can see why!
Great shots this week, Holly.
These are all fabulous~too difficult to choose a fave ;) Glad you all had a good day :)
Oh these are beautiful pictures. I love them all.
Beautiful photos.
Looks really tranquil and like a lovely place to be.
Oh, those are just too cute! I'm a sucker for precious hand holding children!
400 pictures hey? Okay, yeah, I can relate to that!! It looks like you had FUN!!!
Oh My Gosh, that one of the holding hands... PRECIOUS!
I love them all. Great time!
"Boy with Pumpkin" and "Frog Spouting Off" are my favorites. Looks like a great family day with cooperating weather.
Looks like a mighty kid friendly time.
How cute they're holding hands. :)
great pictures...i love the one of him leaning over the hay bale and of the two kids holding hands...precious!
What a gorgeous place, and how could you NOT climb on those trees?
We just discovered the Arboretum as well, thanks to a recent field trip.
Absolutely incredible.
Great shots - you rebel, you. We could print t-shirts: I got bounced out of the Arboretum for climbing trees!
Em
You took incredible photos, and they look like they are having such fun!!
It always makes me smile to see kids trying to climb hay bales. It's too cute!
What a gorgeous place! WOW!! And look - a new girlfriend too. How do you feel about sharing your oldest with that blonde haired vixen??
The Juggling Life household followed the same rules for photos. A cost/benefit analysis if you will--directly related to the potential cuteness of the photo.
You have to go to Dallas Blooms there next spring. A-maz-ing :)
That place looks great. I really like the one with him on the frog.
You'd better watch it Missy...as I recall, this is the SECOND time you've been repremanded for something in your pictures, and you don't want the PoPo watching you! :)
Dont you love it when you find a cool new place. Great pictures, looks like fun.
Great shots! I love the gourds, pink flowers, and kids holding hands!
I can't believe you'd never been there before! I love it! And your pictures are spectacular!
Ok there might be a smack down between reid and and Luke. He's trying to get to her by holding hand at look out point. I see how it is.. He better watch his step..
HA HA
I had no idea you had never been there before. We love it we use to go and take easter pics there allt he time.
Love all the pictures and by the way - I think I took some of those exact same pictures for my wedding shoot. I didnt climb in a tree or on a frog but I wish that I did.
Love the photos, looks like a great place to spend a day!
The photos are beautiful. It looks like a wonderful place to visit!
All of them are wonderful! Beatuful children like beautiful flowers! No, better!
I wanna go!!! It's gorgeous! Wow.
What a beautiful day.
Even though I absolutely abhor squash in ANY form...I'm really drawn to your photo. It's awesome, as is the shot of the mums.
You took some super-cute pics, despite the minor crime of climbing trees. *lol* It made for a great pic though!
very cool :)
What a wonderful place. It looks like you had so much fun. I especially like the hand holding shot...and the one with the pumpkin in the face! Way cute!
How wonderful...sweet kids and a great big place to explore!!! Definitely camera fodder!
400 shots, huh? I wish I had time to Look at that many!
Pax, E
Great shots! I love places like that.
Those mums are gorgeous, and the hand-holding shot is too adorable. :-)
Beautiful shots! I love the one of the kids holding hands!
Definitely looks like a great place to play, for all ages! Great shots, all.
Love all of your pics. My favorite is the pink flowers.
We love, love, LOVE the Morton Arboretum here in Chicago (Lisle actually, but not everyone knows where that is), and have a membership and everything. Jenni takes the kids roughly once a month and Danny always wants to go to the 'abeetum.'
Disclaimer: Benjy thinks that he doesn't like it, but we know better. :)
Oh, we found out about the tree thing after all eight of the kids we had with us (only four of ours!) were in a tree, and we see this lady come runninig franticly in our direction.
We could have taken her.
She was nice though. :)
Great pics.
You and blog studman did well. Your boys look like models. Don't be surprised if the Dallas Arboretum approaches you for photos, letting your boys' model the "kid friendliness" of the place.
It looks divine! OK, now how did that cute little blonde girl sneak in the picture?
Looks like so much fun... and pretty, too.
Those are some awesome pictures!!!
